Boopsie Debuts Spanish-Language Mobile App

by: Lynn Hawkins

Boopsie, the leading mobile solution for universities and libraries worldwide, has announced that it will debut a Spanish-language version of its mobile app at this year’s REFORMA conference. REFORMA is a national organization that promotes library and information services to Spanish-speaking populations. Boopsie is the first mobile app vendor to offer multilingual support to libraries in the United States. Earlier this year the Census Bureau reported the Hispanic population in the United States has surpassed fifty million.1 And according to a recent Pew study, smartphone adoption among Hispanics is among the highest in the country at 44 percent.2 Boopsie apps are available in all languages that use the Latin alphabet. Customers are responsible for content translation. REFORMA chapters are available to assist libraries seeking Spanish-language services. REFORMA has more than nineteen chapters nationwide that service nearly all fifty states. A listing of active chapters can be found on the REFORMA website (www.reforma.org).
